Yes, it's true that I often procrastinate, but if there's anything I've learned about it, it's how to STOP procrastinating! :) So here we go... how to actually get stuff done!!

Yes, it's true that I often procrastinate, but if there's anything I've learned about it, it's how to STOP procrastinating! :) So here we go... how to actually get stuff done!!
- Set a timer. When you first get started with your work, set aside 10-15 minutes to... get this... PROCRASTINATE. Yep. That's right. Surf the internet, text your friends, doodle... you get the idea. But after that timer goes off, back to work you go. The reason this works is because then you won't be distracted by the thought of the tempting internet and can now focus on your work.
- Repeat a mantra. Yep, we're getting into some real cult-like sh*t right now. But seriously, find something that you will repeat to yourself. Make it simple, short, and to the point. For example, if your goal is to finish your essay, repeat in your head, "I will finish my essay. I will finish my essay." Don't let yourself think about anything else BUT THE ESSAY.
- Adopt the one-tab rule. This is, personally, one of the best rules that I use. It definitely helps if you're easily distracted on the internet (read: me). This is exactly what it sounds like: only have one tab open on your internet browser at a time so you can only focus on that one thing. And whatever you do, don't open up more than one tab. It sounds hard at first, and trust me, it is. But it'll really help you. Y'all can thank me later.
- Take breaks. I know when you're stressed, you don't want to do anything except do that one thing that YOU HAVE TO GET DOWN OR YOU'RE SO FREAKING DEAD AHHHHHHH!!! Yep. I know cuz I've been there first-hand. But every so often (I'd recommend 30 minutes), take a break and reward yourself! Grab a snack, play with your dog, go for a walk! Get moving! Afterwards, when you come back to your task, you'll be a lot more refreshed and energetic.
- And the good old deep breaths. Coming back to classics. When you feel that stress or you're about to start a new task, sit up, close your eyes, and take a deep breath through your nose. Exhale and repeat this until you feel calm.
